Investing is like a lot of things we in the libertarian/small government/no government movement observe. If you are a sheep and tend to follow the herd (and not a badger who thinks for himself), you are likely to be at a disadvantage. The crowd is very often dead wrong. Jim Rogers has made a fortune by adhering to this simple philosophy. He is very clear that one shouldn’t go against the crowd simply for the sake of being a contrarian. However, he says and proves that when the whole world thinks one way, the exact opposite may just be the right answer.

Welcome to Political Badger. Thank you for visiting. For those of you who know that our current system is broken… for those of you who are pretty sure both parties are doing something wrong but maybe you’re just not sure exactly what… for those of you who think there has to be a better option than just republican or democrat… And for those of you who just don’t have the time or patience to try to figure it all out… You have come to the right place!

It’s pretty apparent that both parties suck and can’t get it right, but it can be hard to weed through all the bullsh*t on CNN or Foxnews or any number of news outlets and decipher anything intelligible. It’s also easy to get sucked into a rant on TV or a speech from a politician that sounds good. For example, if you heard Barack Obama speak at the democratic national convention during his first run it was easy to believe that he would bring us “hope and change”. He is a powerful speaker… very convincing. We now see that nothing has changed and things have in fact gotten worse. (more…)
